FAQ: Magicka Mayhem: The Card Game of Elements, Spells & MAYHEM!
For the most up-to-date information about the status of our project, check our project updates on Kickstarter!

How many players does the game support?

2 to 4 players can play with each deck. You can mix multiple decks together to increase the number of players. Two decks will comfortable support 7 players. More Friends = More Fun BACKSTABBING! Last updated: Wed, Mar 16 2016 11:51 am EDT

What’s the age range?

Magicka Mayhem is meant for ages 7 and up, but if you’re really smart, like card games and have money (or can get some from mom and dad) then you can probably be 5 or 6 and still have fun playing the game. However, you might lose A LOT. Baby-buyer beware! Last updated: Wed, Mar 16 2016 11:58 am EDT

How long does it take to learn and play?

That depends on how smart you are. If you’re REALLY smart then it will take you about 5 minutes to learn how to play. If you have the mental acumen of a tween ogre (i.e., you DO NOT know what ‘mental acumen’ means) then it might take you upwards of 6-7 minutes to learn how to play the game. Instructions are written on each card. When you play, each round lasts between 15 and 25 minutes depending on the number of players (more players takes longer). It’s an easy game to jump into and enjoy. There are also more strategic gameplay ‘modes’ that will take more time to learn. However, these ‘modes’ won’t take long to learn if you have played the ‘regular’ game a few times first. Last updated: Wed, Mar 16 2016 11:58 am EDT

What size are the cards?

They’re ‘card-sized’. How ‘card-sized’ are they? They’re Poker Card Sized which means that they are 2.5” x 3.5” (for our foreign friends that is 64mm x 89mm – we Americans aren’t EXACTLY sure what ‘mm’ stands for, but hopefully that helps you). How thick are they? They’re ‘card-thick’. How ‘card-thick’ are they? We have NO idea. Please don’t ask again. ;-) Last updated: Wed, Mar 16 2016 11:58 am EDT

Will the game come in any other languages?

Our Wizards BARELY speak English. To ask more of them is… frankly… quite ‘high expectation’ of you. However, if our Kickstarter does a bazillion dollars (that’s USD) then you can pretty much bet it will come in any darn language you can possible imagine: Swahili, Klingon… Swedish (maybe). Where can I buy Magicka Mayhem merchandise? I really want a Vampire Bunny Plushie!

Don’t we all! We are hard at work creating additional merchandise to squeeze every possible dollar out of your generous wallet / purse. And when we say ‘we’ we actually mean Ethan’s 6 year-old sister, Avery, is working hard for no money. The labor may be cheap, but don’t expect it to be FAST! I backed your Kickstarter campaign. When can I expect my Rewards?

First off: THANK YOU! You are an amazing person deserving of the highest degree of respect and gratitude and mayhem-iness! In fact, you should probably STOP associating with any friends that DID NOT back our Kickstarter since you should hang out with people more on your uber-high caliber level. Second: As much as we would LOVE to, there are certain laws in the United States that prevent us from treating children (i.e., Ethan the creator) like slave labor (darn you politicians!). As such, we expect to have most Reward Tiers into you hot little gaming hands within 90 – 120 days following the end of the Kickstarter Campaign (if a particular Reward Tier requires more time than that, it will be clearly indicated in the reward). Of course, this is barring any freak factory fires, UFO attacks on air transport planes or Diva-level meltdowns by our 10 year-old Founder, Ethan. Hey, it’s a game with ‘Mayhem’ in the title – how’s THAT for inviting disaster?!? Last updated: Wed, Mar 16 2016 11:58 am EDT

I backed the Kickstarter campaign. Where are my Mayhem-y delights?

First off: THANK YOU! You are an amazing person deserving of the highest degree of respect and gratitude and mayhem-iness! In fact, you should probably STOP associating with any friends that DID NOT back our Kickstarter – you should hang out with people more on your uber-high caliber level. Second: You will receive a Survey from Kickstarter AFTER the campaign has ENDED. That Survey will clarify exactly what Rewards you want (i.e., three little things or one big thing for your contribution amount) AND your shipping address. Since people like to change addresses fairly frequently, we will send out the Survey AS CLOSE TO THE EXPECTED SHIPPING DATE AS POSSIBLE to prevent shipping your stuff to some other dude or dudette that won’t love Magicka Mayhem the way you will! If you need any further assistance feel free to email [email protected]. If needed, we will pull Ethan out of school or wake him up from his slumber so he can instantly reply to your inquiry. What’s included with the game?

Cards. Oh, you want more detailed info? How about a Magicka Mayhem card deck which includes an Element Card Deck, Spell Card Deck and Mayhem Card Deck. The game also includes instructions (also detailing multiple game ‘modes’ to keep things interesting) and a complete card-containment system (i.e. a tuck box). Do you offer International shipping?

Yes. You can find the prices for shipping anywhere in the world by selecting your reward level and choosing your location in the drop-down menu. Last updated: Wed, Mar 16 2016 11:58 am EDT

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
